About Foundation
For many years, Redeemer has had a strong reputation for developing the whole child as an individual. By enrolling your child in Foundation at Redeemer, you can be confident that you are giving your child the best start to their primary schooling.
Our Foundation team works with each individual child to ensure they develop:
- academically, with strong Literacy and Numeracy skills;
- socially, with the ability to establish and maintain relationships;
- and as an individual, with the confidence, resilience and love of learning they need to flourish at primary school.
Foundation students at Redeemer experience a range of rich learning experiences. These often occur through intentional, hands-on inquiry and play experiences. This allows your child to demonstrate their understanding in a variety of ways that are more appropriate for them developmentally.
With single year level classes and significant in-class support, our teachers are able to focus on the specific academic and developmental needs of Foundation-aged children, providing the perfect environment for them to learn, grow and flourish in.
What’s going on in the Discoverers Village
Discoverers Restaurant
Last week the Discoverers went on an excursion to the Botanic Gardens and spent some time in the Little Spouts Kitchen Garden. We also walked through the gardens exploring the uses of different plants from an indigenous perspective. While in the kitchen garden we had the opportunity to harvest some tomatoes, zucchini and limes. Today we used this produce to make zucchini noodles with tomato and basil sauce, and lime-ade to accompany our food. We worked in groups across the village to prepare the ingredients before cooking and eating our meal together.
