Our Year 7s started the year learning about our governmental system, democracy and other governmental systems around the world. The pinnacle of this work was their visit to Canberra in Week 4. This year 56 students travelled to Canberra for our Year 7 trip and they exceeded even our high expectations.
Students visited the Australian War Memorial, Parliament House, the High Court of Australia, the Questacon Science Museum, the Australian Institute of Sport and many other places. They came back from this trip filled with enthusiasm, knowledge and lots of questions to continue pushing their learning forwards.
Visiting Canberra is a wonderful experience that makes many of the students’ other learning come to life and seem truly relevant. A big thank you must be offered to all of our staff who attended this year’s Canberra camp for their hard work in preparing such a great trip.
